11st Sep 2010 - After a long break ...
I have finally completed my degree course and back to my hobby - buying and selling koi. I bought some nice koi from my supplier and brought them to my friend's pond for some photo shooting. While I was preparing, I left my digital camera on top of the filter box and went to carry the koi to the pond. When I return with the koi to the pond, I was shocked to find that my camera disappeared. I thought my friend has taken it but when I looked around, I was heart broken to see my 5 years old camera lying at the botton of the pond. Oh, what a mistake!
Left with no better choice, I took the photo using my mobile phone which produced lousy quality.
So, here's some poor quality video, sorry for that.
I will post the individual photos to the koi sales page when they are ready. Thank you for your patience.
17th January 2009 - Budget Showa Grow-out Event Auction and Judging
After 6 months of grow-out, we have finally come to the end of the event.
It was a bright and sunny afternoon and about 6 hobbists turn up for this interesting event.
We started off with the Koi Auction starting from $1.
4 of the 5 kois were auctioned away with price from $5 to $40. Congratulation to the winners.
After the auction, we proceeded with the koi judging. Each hobbist is given 6 points to vote for 1st (3 pts), 2nd (2 pts) and 3rd (1 pt) place of their choice.
It was a close fight between SG2 and SG13. But at last, SG2 wins by a margin of just 1 point ahead of SG13 (10 pts vs 9 pts). Congratulation to the winner - Wang.
Finally, thanks again to all the hobbists who have supported this event!
Wishing all a very Happy and Fruitful Lunar New Year!!

A Happy and Prosperous Lunar New Year to all the Koi hobbists!!
Majority of us in Singapore stay in highrised HDB flats or Private Condo. Keeping Koi in flats can be quite difficult as fibretank can be quite unsightly unless you have a becony.
What about keeping Koi in a glass tank? This could be a viable alternative. Check here on how I set-up a 5 Ft glass tank to keep these gracious creatures!
9th Dec 2007 - Vitamins for Koi
Some Koi hobbists fed back to me that they add different fruit juice to the koi pellets and observed very positive effect. Most observed that their koi are more active. One of them even mentioned that his koi completely recovered from fin rot after adding different type of fruit juice to the pellets. Here's the original article on how to prepare koi pellets with Barley green juice. You can apply the same procedure with using fruit juice instead.
